The court found the blogger Otabek Sattoriy guilty of committing crimes under Articles 139 (libel) and 165 (extortion) of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan. Taking into account Articles 57 (lighter punishment), 59 (sentencing for several crimes), and 61 (the rules of credit for the addition of penalties) of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the blogger was sentenced to imprisonment for six years and six months. The blogger's lawyer Khursanoy Kuchimova said that five charges had been dropped against her client. Earlier, the prosecutor demanded to imprison the blogger for 11 years. The verdict of the Muzrabot District Court of the Surxondaryo region will be appealed.
