Yesenzhol Yelekenov, the trainee reporter of Uralskaya Nedelya, was detained and taken to the police, where he was held for three hours. Before entering the police offices, he left his phone in a special box, as per the general requirement. When Yesenzhol was released, he retrieved his phone and found that all the footage had been deleted. While covering the protests, Yesenzhol sustained sufficiently severe injuries, because of which he had to go to the hospital.
