The security officials detained the journalist when she was covering a women's protest march in the city centre. She was taken to the police department and drawn two administrative reports: for violation of the law on mass events (Article 23.34 of the Code of Administrative Offences of the Republic of Belarus) and disobedience to the police (Article 23.4 of the Code of Administrative Offences of the Republic of Belarus). Alena was held in the detention centre for three days until the trial. On September 29, the Oktyabrsky District Court of Minsk judge found the journalist guilty under both articles. She was arrested for 15 days and fined a large sum.
