The police detained the photographer when he was covering Sunday's protest rally against the presidential election results and the security forces' violence. He was taken to the police department, charged with participation in an unauthorized event (Article 23.34 of the Code of Administrative Offences of the Republic of Belarus), and held in the detention centre until the trial. On November 16, the court returned the case to the police for revision, and the journalist was released.
