The journalist was detained by the police close to the place of the march of pensioners, which the journalist intended to cover on the editorial assignment. He was taken to the police department, where he was accused of participating in an unauthorized event (Article 23.34 of the Code of Administrative Offences of the Republic of Belarus). He was held in the detention centre for two days until the trial. On November 18, Lavretski was found guilty based on the police report and evidence and arrested for 15 days.
