The security officials detained the journalist when she was covering a women's protest march in the centre of the city. The court found her guilty of participating in an unauthorized action and disobedience to police based on the police reports and arrested her for 15 days. While the journalist was serving her sentence in the detention centre, another report was drawn up on her. On October 12, the court again found her guilty and arrested her for another 15 days. As a result, Elena Dovnar spent 30 days in custody, during which she was placed in a punishment cell for four days.
