The security officials detained the journalist on the street near his home while he was going to a store. He was taken to the police department, where he was accused of participating in an unauthorized event (Article 23.34 of the Code of Administrative Offences of the Republic of Belarus). He was held in the detention centre for three days until the trial. On December 16, the court found the journalist guilty based on the police report and fined him a large sum.
