The journalist was detained by the police when covering a protest against the results of the presidential election. During the detention, he was beaten with truncheons on his legs. The journalist was taken to the detention centre, where he was held overnight until the trial. He was drawn up a report on violation of the law on mass events (Article 23.34 of the Code of Administrative Offences of the Republic of Belarus). On August 11, the court found the journalist guilty and arrested him for 12 days.
