Uladzimir Laptsevich was detained by the police when he was covering a protest march in the centre of Mogilev. He was taken to the police department, where the police drew up a report on him for violation of the law on mass events (Article 23.34 of the Code of Administrative Offences of the Republic of Belarus). He was held in the detention centre for almost three days until the trial. On September 30, the judge of the Leninsky District Court found the journalist guilty and arrested him for 13 days.
