On June 25, Kakhaber Kaladze, the mayor of Tbilisi, also acting as the secretary-general of the Georgian Dream ruling party, announced that he was launching a campaign against fake news. Three main opposition TV channels – Mtavari Arkhi, Formula, and Pirveli – have become targets. This is related to the upcoming parliamentary elections.
