On August 8, the Minister of Defence (Prime Minister of Georgia from 2013-2015) Irakli Garibashvili accused two TV channels, Mtavari Arkhi and Formula, of «forcing Putin to invade Georgia». He refused to give them any comments on Memorial Day of the Fallen of the August War of 2008. Mtavari Arkhi began broadcasting on September 9, 2019, while Formula channel began broadcasting in October 2019.
