After an unscheduled inspection in May 2020, Roskomnadzor demanded to close the news agency. In July, the Central Election Commission accused the Vremya news agency of provocations during the vote on the amendments to the Constitution. On October 15, the Dolgoprudny City Court started considering the lawsuit of the Roskomnadzor to close the media outlet. On December 25, the agency unexpectedly withdrew its lawsuit.
