Rail Kharisov worked as a website editor, photographer, and driver for the Aktanysh-inform local media outlet. He had a conflict over the publication of advertising news with the chief Regina Salakhova, sister of the head of the executive committee of the regional centre Rinaz Sharipov. According to the Realnoe Vremya news portal, after that, according to Kharisov, Salakhova started to threaten him: «Your life is in my hand, I will fire you under the article». On June 15, Kharisov resigned.
