A new criminal case for participation in an extremist organization was opened against the journalist Abdulmumin Gadzhiev and three other defendants (Part 2 of Article 282.2 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation). They are accused of participating in the activities of the organisations «Congress of the Peoples of Ichkeria and Dagestan» and «The Supreme Military Majlis ul-Shura of the United Mujahideen Forces of the Caucasus». Gadzhiev has been in custody since June 2019 on a terrorism financing case.
