During a Christmas broadcast with Gerard Depardieu, TV host Ivan Urgant was attacked for his jokes on religious topics. The Orthodox movement Sorok Sorokov demanded that Urgant be deprived of Russian citizenship. Council for Civil Society and Human Rights member Shota Gorgadze suggested that a criminal case be opened against Urgant for insulting the feelings of religious believers.
