From March 10 to 12, 2021, the freelance journalist of the Crimea.Realities Vladislav Yesipenko, who was detained at the Angarskyi pass by the Federal Security Service of the Russian Federation in Crimea, was tortured with the use of electric current and was not allowed to see the lawyer. This became known when Yesipenko had the opportunity to meet with his lawyers. He said that for two days, he was kept in a basement near Bakhchysarai. On March 19, independent lawyer Emil Kurbedinov, with whom his wife Ekaterina had signed an agreement, was not allowed to see Yesipenko. Instead, Yesipenko was appointed a lawyer Violetta Sineglazova, who had previously repeatedly appeared in politically motivated cases against citizens of Ukraine, in fact protecting not the defendant, but the interests of the investigation. In total, the detained journalist was not allowed to see independent lawyers for 27 days.
