On the presidential election day, accredited journalists were not allowed into the polling station where Alexander Lukashenko voted. Only photographers were allowed inside. As Lukashenko was approaching the press, no live broadcasts were allowed. According to the head of the president's press service Sergei Pelyushkevich, only professional photographers may take photos and camera operators – videos. In particular, Zmitser Lukashuk, a European Radio for Belarus journalist, was banned from streaming and shooting videos because he represented European Radio.
