The journalist was detained by soldiers of the army's internal troops service during the dispersal of a street protest. Roman had press credentials with him and was wearing a vest with the inscription «Press». The journalist's camera was snatched, he was dragged into a police van – he was beaten with batons and feet, interspersed with swearing. Then he was taken to the Leninsky District police department – on the way out of the car, he has been beaten again. The journalist was kept in the courtyard of the police department for several hours on his knees, hands behind his head, face in the railing of the fence. He was released after a representative of the editorial office contacted the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
