Civil activist Arman Khasenov, arrested for a video criticizing Nursultan Nazarbayev, was convicted. Khasenov was found guilty of committing a crime under Part 2 of Article 373 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan (public insult and other encroachment on the honor and dignity of the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Elbasy) and sentenced to three years of restriction of liberty with the probation supervision and a fine of KZT 41,600 (approximately USD 104).
