On May 18, employees of the Financial Investigation Department came with searches to the TUT.by editorial office and to the homes of journalists and editors of the media. After the search, a computer and other equipment was confiscated from the apartment, Tolkacheva herself was detained. For some time, the relatives did not know where and in what status she was. Later, it became known that she was detained for 72 hours and is being held in the Akrestsina Detention Centre. However, on May 21, Tolkacheva was not released but transferred to a pre-trial detention center in Zhodino. Transfer to a pre-trial detention center means that she is a suspect, judging by the previously announced information on a criminal case of tax evasion (Part 2 of Article 243 of the Criminal Code).
