Blogger Yulia Barabina left Kyrgyzstan in mid-February. She said that the main reason for this act was fears for her life in connection with the persecution by the authorities. Earlier, officers of the State Committee for National Security raided her house. She was interrogated. The blogger said that she is a witness in a case registered under Article 313 (Incitement to racial, ethnic, national, religious or interregional enmity (hatred)) of the Kyrgyz Criminal Code Republic.
