On 22 August, Dadakhon Khaidarov, the admin of a social media channel and the only blogger in the Sokh district of the Fergana region was detained. He was arrested on 25 August. The blogger is suspected of organizing riots and resistance to representatives of the authorities. To mitigate the consequences of the incident on the Uzbek-Kyrgyz border, Prime Minister of Uzbekistan Abdulla Aripov visited Sokh on 1 June . The blogger asked the head of government to solve several problems including the removal of the head of the Fergana region, Shukhrat Ganiev.
