Free view editor-in-chief Madina Sageeva with a lawsuit in the sum of one million rubles for her anti-corruption investigation. He filed a lawsuit with the court for the protection of his honour and dignity. In 2018, Bitarov won a suit against Sageeva; the court obligated the journalist to publish a retraction.
