On March 2, Makhambet Abjan, correspondent of KazTAG MIA, a former civic activist, who is currently on parole, received a WhatsApp message from the precinct inspector. The policeman informed him that he must go to Nur-Sultana Saryarka District Precinct No. 28 and spend the night in a temporary detention cell, since in the morning, a hearing was scheduled in his case in administrative court. As the policeman told him, “That’s the rule now, everyone goes to court this way”. After the journalist wrote about this in a post on Facebook, the issue of “spending the night” at the police precinct was removed.
