On 16 April, Uralsk civil court ruled that local blogger Aibolat Bukenov must pay 130,000 tenges (80 thousand for emotional distress, 50 thousands for the lawyer) to the employee of a regional newspaper Dana Duisenekova. He was earlier arrested on charges for “beating” her up. Her demands are motivated by the fact that since the actions commited by the defendant were committed in public, they caused an emotional distress.” Aibolat Bukenov denies his guilt.
