On May 13, 2019, it was revealed that in March in the city of Yakutsk, Vitaly Obedin, the editor-in-chief of the “Yakutsk Vecherniy” newspaper was charged with the dissemination of false public information under the guise of reliable reports, posing a threat of harm to the life and/or health of citizens or property and the threat of mass disturbance of public order. The newspaper had published an article on its front page entitled "Another one? A migrant worker from Tajikistan who attacked a 14-year-old girl has been detained".
