In Krasnodar, a criminal case was opened against MBK Media journalist Alexander Savelyev. He was suspected of carrying out the activities of a foreign non-governmental organisation banned in Russia (Article 284.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation). Earlier, Savelyev was summoned to the prosecutor's office due to news concerning Open Russia. Savelyev's parents' house was also searched, and his external passport was confiscated to make sure he could not leave the country. On December 23, the criminal case was dismissed.
