Journalist Bobomurod Abdullaev was extradited from Kyrgyzstan to Uzbekistan. Оn August 9, 2020, he was detained by the special services of the Kyrgyz Republic at the request of neighbourhood country for allegedly "distributing materials against the existing constitutional order on social networks." He was arrested and put into prison. Bobomurod Abdullaev came to the Kyrgyz Republic by the invitation of the American University of Central Asia to undergo a four-month training. After the completion of training, journalist was unable to come back to his country due to the closure of borders because of COVID-19.
