The deputy head-teacher of Baku middle school no. 251 filed a lawsuit against journalist Sevinj Abbasova (Vagifgyzy). The journalist had prepared a report from an electoral district during the presidential election of 11th April 2018. The report stated that one person had voted several times and that the plaintiff had also participated in this process. It was broadcast on "Meydan TV", the website "azadliq.info" and on social media. The deputy head-teacher, who claimed that the report had degraded his honour and dignity, demanded the deletion of the report, a retraction, an apology from the journalist and compensation of 2500 manat. The regional court did not uphold the claim, however the court of appeal fined the journalist 1000 manat.
