Polad Aslanov, chief editor of the site "xeberman.com" was arrested in June, accused of treason (article 274 of the criminal code of the Republic of Azerbaijan). According to the official charge, the journalist was linked to Iranian special services. The journalist's relatives denied the accusations and said that Aslanov had been arrested for articles criticising the Azerbaijani special services.
