In October the sports journalist Shafi Shafiev was summoned to the ministry of internal affairs' general directorate against organised crime. The journalist was questioned over his discourse and reposts on social media. In October 2003 unrest broke out in Baku. The journalist had shared on his social media accounts video footage of police violence taking place at these events. Whilst at the directorate, the journalist was warned not to share such material again.
