On May 31, 2018, Batalova arrived at the 5th police department of Tyumen to hand over a court summons to one of the investigators. On leaving the department, other employees of the department decided to detain her. In the case file, she said she kicked and beat the officers of the department "on their arms and legs", hit one of the policemen in the stomach, and scratched his hand. For this, the journalist and activist was given two and a half years’ probation.
