In Makhachkala on December 22, Idris Yusupov, a journalist for the newspaper “Novoye Delo”, was detained while filming police raids outside a mosque. Yusopov was accused of disobedience to the police officers (Part 1 Article 19.3 of the Code of the Russian Federation on Administrative Offenses). He was held in at the police station for more than five hours. Afterwards, all the relevant materials of the case were handed over to the Sovetskiy district court of Makhachkala. However, the judge refused to consider the case because of numerous errors in the police report.
