Roman Tsimbaluk was detained after he interviewed a graduate student of the history department at Moscow State University, who had previously been detained and beaten for waving a homemade Ukrainian flag. Unknown assailants, who presented themselves as FSB officers, forced the graduate student to sign a paper on supposedly voluntary cooperation with them as an informant.
