On the Field of Mars in the centre of St. Petersburg, LGBT activists held solitary pickets and protests. After the event, a group of participants and several journalists were attacked by hooligans. They sprayed pepper spray from canisters, and eyewitnesses managed to film it. Among the victims was a camera crew from the TV channel "Nastoyashchoye Vremya” (Current Time), a reporter for popular urban media project "Fontanka" Ksenia Klochkova and photographer David Frenkel.
