Unknown assailants approached Pliev in the street and hit him on the head, after which he lost consciousness. Peter Pliev suggested that the beating was related to his journalistic activities. The day before, Pliev accused local entrepreneur Murat Kisiev of illegally appropriating grazing land and building industrial enterprises on the site. The journalist said that in the process of writing the material he began to receive threats.
