Law-enforcers from Karachay-Cherkessia searched Dargan in connection with a criminal case on dissemination of fake news. The search was carried out at the home of the journalist’s relatives. All of Dargan’s equipment was seized and she was deprived of the ability to work (she is disabled and uses a wheelchair). Law-enforces believe that Dargan is the administrator of the group “Politics 09,” where materials about the catastrophic situation with COVID-19 in the Karachay-Cherkessia Republic are published. Dargan says she has no relationship to it at all.
