On July 16, Narek Abrahamyan, Senior Investigator of Syunik Regional Investigative Department, filed a lawsuit to the Court of General Jurisdiction of Syunik Province (Sisian seat) against Arshavir Hovhannisyan, the former Mayor of Meghri, seeking the retraction of allegedly defamatory statements, a public apology and compensation for the damage to his honour, dignity and good reputation. The third party to this case was “Syuniats Ashkharh” LLC, the founder of the newspaper "Syuniats Yerkir". The case was accepted for court proceedings on August 29.
