On 5th October 2017, the Sverdlovsk regional court of Biskek granted the claim of prime minister Sooronbay Jeenbekov, a candidate for the presidency of the Kyrgyz Republic, against journalist Kabay Karabekov and the news agency 24.kg, obliging them to pay the plaintiff 5 million soms.
