The journalist found out about the criminal case against her on 4th September, when she was summoned to the Mirzo-Ulugbek district department of internal affairs in Tashkent. It was explained that she was accused of crimes under two articles of the Criminal Code: 139 - "slander" - and 140 - "insult". A ban on leaving Uzbekistan was imposed.
