The journalist Mavdzhuda Sokhibnazarova left Tajikistan in 2017. She is now a political migrant in the Netherlands, but her daughter and mother remain in Tajikistan. She says that her daughter is still regularly harrassed by security service officers and police: this occurred most recently on 27th June 2019, when a number of people in civilian clothes forced their way into the journalist's home without an arrest or search warrant, and demanded that her daughter hand over the property's real estate documents. Having not received the documents, they threatened to kidnap Mavdzhuda and return her to Tajikistan.
