The Somoni regional court in the city of Dushanbe found Mijgona Khalimova guilty under article 347 (failure to report a crime or concealing it) of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Tajikistan and sentenced her to a fine of $2,800. The journalist supposedly received information from a migrant who was then living in Russia. Later this source joined ISIS, and the journalist was accused of failure to report this information.
