On October 21st, the Taldykorgan City Court of the Almaty region sentenced a retired major of the Interior Ministry, 68-year-old Bolatkhan Zhunusov, to a year of restriction of freedom. He is charged under Article 405, part 2 of the Criminal Code with involvement in the activities of the "Democratic Choice of Kazakhstan" movement.
