On February 12th, Radio Azattyk reporter Saniya Toiken was taken to a police station in Astana. The journalist came to Astana to interview several mothers who had made demands to the government. The women reported that they had been put under pressure. Having spoken to one of the women, Saniya went to the home of one of the others. There, there were police officers on duty. They asked why the journalist had come to this private house, and said that she had to come to the police station. At the police department of the Saryarkin district of Astana, the head of the criminal department spoke with Saniya Toiken for about half an hour.
