According to Radio Azattyk, on September 17th in Astana police detained journalist Svetlana Glushkova when she arrived at the site of an alleged "protest in support of political prisoners" to cover the event. She was taken in a police car to the building of the Yesil police department, where the first deputy chief of the police department apologised to her and said that the journalist was detained "by mistake."
