A criminal case concerning the dissemination of fake news about coronavirus (Article 207.1 of the Criminal Code) has been initiated against Alexander Pichugin. On the night of April 17, the journalist was detained at his home and interrogated. He was later released. The criminal case has been initiated because of a post about worship in the Diveevsky monastery – he wrote of a "planned action to infect the population with a deadly disease."
