It has become known that the personal details of Glafira Zhuk, a former journalist with the Belarusian Service of Radio Liberty, have appeared in the wanted persons database of Russia’s Ministry of Internal Affairs. The reasons for the prosecution have not been disclosed. Being listed in this database means that the Belarusian citizen has been declared wanted in connection with the initiation of a criminal case. It is likely that Zhuk was added to the Russian database at the request of the Belarusian authorities. In 2021, the Belarusian authorities designated the national service of Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty as an extremist organisation.
