By the decision of the Pinsk District and City Court, the page titled "Media-Polesyе" on the social network VKontakte (identifier vk.com/mpolesye) has been recognised as an "extremist information". "Media Polesye" is an independent online news outlet covering events in several regions of the Brest Region. On the basis of the court’s decision, the Ministry of Information of Belarus has added the website to the Republican List of Extremist Materials. Under Belarusian law, the distribution and storage of materials deemed extremist carry administrative liability for both publishers and users.
