Aleh Supruniuk, a journalist currently serving his three-year sentence for ‘partaking in an extremist formation’, was added to the register of ‘extremists’. It is noted that the Brest Regional Court found Supruniuk guilty under Part 3 of Article 361–1 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Belarus — “Participation in an extremist organisation” — and that the journalist is “serving his sentence”. Supruniuk was sentenced on 8 August 2025 to three years’ imprisonment. Prior to the trial, the journalist had been held in custody for over six months in Detention Centre No. 7 in Brest.
