On 23 May, the Civil Court of Appeal ruled to uphold the decision of the court of first instance in the case brought by the Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia, Alen Simonyan, against the founder of the news website Ankakh.am, V.I.V Today and Tomorrow LLC. The lawsuit, filed on 22 December 2022, was partially upheld by the court of first instance, which ordered the defendant to publish a retraction on the said website, to pay a state duty of 20,000 drams (more than $50), and 200,000 drams (more than $500) to cover the claimant’s legal fees.
